KOC VIETNAM 2022 is a reality contest to find and train the KOC generation – Key Opinion Consumer – the first key consumer in Vietnam in the 4.0 era. The show is organized by VCCorp with the categories of content production skills training, livestream and practical sales persuasion skills with unique challenges.

Attracting throughout the 8 episodes broadcast, “KOC VIETNAM” became the top 10 most attractive events on social networks in the last week of May (according to Younet Media). The program received attention from 150 press websites, 35 cooperative fanpages; 05 press apps owned by VCCorp, Social Media Lotus and e-commerce app Lazada with 41,000 viewers… The attraction can be seen until the last minute of the program, and mark the impressive numbers of a technology event brought.

✦ Journey to top 10 KOC Vietnam

I had never participated in a reality program like this before, so I was rather taken aback when I initially arrived in KOC VIETNAM. At the time, I created movies sharing my own beauty experiences with the public out of passion, so the idea of “KOC” was still quite new to me. Since I shot and edited all of my films at home, my first experience recording twenty-three hours a day for a week stands out in my memory.

“In 2022, surpassing hundreds of contestants, Linh Sim was present in the TOP 10 KOC VIETNAM. This is also the biggest turning point that brings Linh to more exciting activities.

With flexibility and ingenuity, Linh Sim immediately entered the list of potential content creators and was invited by big brands to work with such as: Shopee, Lazada, Accesstrade, M.O.I, La roche Posay, Vin Wonders,… Soon after, she officially became a VJ at Schannel, one of the leading entertainment channels for young people in Vietnam.”

There were moments during the filming when the pressure made me want to quit up. I was still new to the field, but the other competitors were all skilled in their fields and had a great deal of experience on screen. However, I believe that being creative does not equate to giving up, so I’m glad I didn’t give up. I realized that: The biggest value that I receive is the attention and recognition of all audiences – who are following me. The audience is also a source of inspiration and motivation for me to create more good videos.

Episode 3 of “KOC VIETNAM”

“One of my challenges was to make a film that explained how to utilize a mask. The special thing is that the mask is “invisible”. It may seem odd, but I was really enthusiastic about that subject. One of my life’s goals is to make the impossible feasible. And I still believe that with creativity, everything is possible!”

At the end of the show, I placed in the top 10, which I am really proud of. It was a worthwhile experience for me since I learned a lot and gained a lot of knowledge that will help me become an outstanding content creator. If I could give other content creators one bit of advice, it would be to not be self-conscious, to try, and to never give up. Let’s all try our hardest!

✦ Road trip to Japan

After finishing the contest, I had the good fortune to visit the TikTok Japan office while on a business trip in Japan. During the four-day tour, I was able to learn more about the Japanese beauty market, how businesses in the creative sector function, and meet more KOLs and KOCs.

My adventure through KOC Vietnam has left me feeling a range of emotions. For the experiences and lessons I have gained, I sincerely thank KOC Vietnam. I’ll hold onto it here as a lovely memento of the invaluable experience I’ve had.
