1. About this event

Creative Change Makers 2025 was held by Creative Conscience in partnership with Confetti Media Group – part of NTU SheSays London.

The theme of this event was Creativity for Social + Environmental Impact, which included production of TV, movies, events, music, and content.

This event is a day of motivating and exciting TED-style lectures about using the power of creative thought to create a more equitable, healthy, sustainable, and regenerative world.

In essence, I was given the opportunity to participate in a pitching session to discuss my project “Highlight Yourself” with Panel Talk:

  • Tayo Popoola, Executive Producer
  • Marion Hume, previously Editor-in-Chief for Vogue Australia
  • Becca Wolff, Film producer
  • Nathan Freeman, Founder and CEO of Granny Eats Wolf

2. About my talk

My presentation at Creative Change Makers 2025

My presentation was essentially separated into three key sections using my nickname, “Sim”: Social media, Inspiration, and Motivation.

S – Social Media

As a content creator, I believe one of the biggest global challenges today is Social media. While it offers many opportunities, it also has negative effects—especially on self-esteem. Social media can lead to comparison, seeking validation through likes, comments, and even cyberbullying, all of which can impact mental well-being, causing anxiety, depression, and loneliness.

I’ve experienced this firsthand. Hate comments have been one of the biggest obstacles in my creative journey. Here are some examples from my own videos. They affected my confidence, but I didn’t let them stop me. Instead, I asked myself: “How can I make a positive change?”

I believe creativity has the power to raise awareness and influence people to use social media in a healthier way.

I – Inspiration & My Project: Highlight Yourself

There fore, I want to be the inspiration – we have the letter “I” . That’s why I created my project, “Highlight Yourself.”

The word “highlight” means to emphasize something important. In makeup, it enhances natural beauty. My project plays on this idea. I will create a “CGI video” featuring myself and others interacting with a “giant highlighter”—symbolizing the message:

“We all have our own beauty. Instead of changing ourselves to fit in, we should focus on highlighting our natural beauty and embracing confidence.”

The video will be uploaded on my TikTok account and shared across YouTube and Instagram. I chose TikTok because it offers a higher chance of going viral. I will also use the hashtag #HighlightYourself to track engagement and inspire more people to join the movement.

M – Meaningful Impact

So, what inspired me to focus on social issues in my creative work? Simply put, it’s my purpose as a content creator. I don’t just want to create videos—I want them to have meaningful impacts.

I made a video about body shaming, and the response was overwhelming. The supportive comments didn’t just inspire my audience; they motivated me too.

At the end of the day, my advice to all creators is this:  “Creativity – Considerably Refers to the Enthusiastic Ability To Invent Valuable Ideas To Yell one’s unique voice into the world.” So, be yourself!!

3. Results

I was surprised by the volume of acknowledgements I received after my four-minute speech. That might serve as motivation for me while I work on both my project and my job.
